An Ideal Day on Ile De Ré

The Ile de Ré is the type of destination you never get tired of, a place where even after spending many summers and visiting almost everything, you still like to go back. Whether for the beauty of its natural landscapes, the charm of its villages or its gastronomy, many tourists have made this island their favourite destination. We have therefore decided to let you discover what we think our perfect day on the Ile de Ré looks like.

9:00 am: There is nothing better than starting the day by waking up in front of the sea. At Villanovo, we believe that this is a sight that changes a day. That's why we love the villa Les Amazones in the heart of the Portes en Ré and its splendid view of the pristine beach. 
 
10 am: To wake up your body and soul, we start the day with a quick workout or yoga session right in your villa. A perfect way to stay in shape during your holidays without having to move from home, followed by a breakfast on the terrace under the sun enjoying the island's delicacies. 
 
11 am: Afterwards we carry on in the morning through the numerous markets of the Ile de Ré. Each village has its own market during the summer season and this is a perfect opportunity to discover the local know-how and crafts of the island through a walk filled with lovely aromas. You will discover a glimpse of the Ré way of life as well as the traditions of the inhabitants of the island. It will also be the time to stock up on some delicious quality products!
 
1 pm: After having visited the market, a lunch break at the Café du Commerce in the village of Ars-en-Ré is an excellent suggestion. Founded in the late 19th century, it is an unmissable place with a very rich history. Here you can enjoy delicious oysters and other seafood from the region on the terrace accompanied by quality white wine or a pineau des Charentes. We strongly advise you to make reservations to ensure an optimal place.   
 
2:30 pm: Then comes the moment of relaxation, but also the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Head for the beach of La Conche des Baleines, a long beach 3 kilometres behind the dunes, ideal for sunbathing while enjoying the natural landscapes of the island.
 
4:30 pm: Time for a snack and refreshment, let yourself be seduced by a delicious ice cream or an ice-cold macaroon from L'Atelier. This little tea room of La Flotte will be a guaranteed favourite!
 
5:00 p.m.: Then, take the opportunity of leisurely strolls and visits to one or more of the charming villages of the island, each one friendlier than the other. Indeed, they all have a unique charm that you can't get tired of. If you are more interested in a cultural experience, you will also find many museums and art galleries that are unmissable. 
 
7 pm: Return to your villa to enjoy the pleasures of your luxury villa, indeed, you can enjoy a swim in the private swimming pool or an aerobics under the sun on the terrace. An ideal moment to relax from this day full of discoveries!
 
8:30 pm: Finally, we end our busy day with a delicious dinner to discover the local gastronomy. You will have your choice of staying comfortably in your villa and enjoying a meal prepared by a chef exclusively for you or going to one of the best restaurants on the island. Guaranteed to be a unique experience!
